Tom Brady Retires Again

March 8, 2023
Tom Brady has retired again. He announced his retirement on February 1st, 2023 at the beach, where he made a video announcing his retirement, which he posted to his Instagram. He is one of the greatest football players of all time in his twenty-three seasons in the NFL.
Tom Brady played twenty-three seasons in the NFL for the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In his career he holds many records in the NFL. He has the most passing yards with 89,214. He leads in some of the best categories for his position and quarterback is one of the hardest positions to play. He also has won seven Super Bowls which is more than any team, and five superbowl most valuable player awards which is more than any player. George Rouse, a football fan said “Tom Brady is the greatest player because he has won seven Super Bowls.”
Why did Tom Brady choose to retire? Tom Brady chose to retire because he wanted to spend more time with his family. Tom Brady has three kids John, Benjamin, and Vivian. Another contributing factor might have been his recent divorce with his ex wife Gisele Bündchen. Tom is also at the age of forty-five, which is considered old in football. Michael Donnelly agrees by saying“I think he retired because of his age and wanted to be done.” Although there is no exact reason that we know that Tom Brady retired.
What does Tom Brady plan to do with his retirement? Well Tom Brady has signed a deal with Fox to announce NFL games starting in the fall of 2024. Tom Brady before he started he said, “Take some time to really learn, be great at what I really want to do [and] become great at thinking about the opportunity and making sure I don’t rush into anything.” Hopefully this time will help Tom Brady learn how to announce and make him a great analyst like Tony Romo and Troy Aikman who were former quarterbacks that became announcers after they retired. Rouse said “Tom Brady will be a great announcer because of all his NFL experience, and will bring great aspects to the game.” Although his retirement is disappointing to many fans, they are excited to watch him in this upcoming chapter in his career.
