Prologue
A rather small albino man stood in front of the door, nervously waiting at the front of the house for someone, or something, to take them in. The man was odd to say the least, they wore rather messy clothes and had a small plant sprouting from his head. They looked around the dark clearing, it was quite late and they felt a daze that only rest could repair. They waited in front of the door for another 5 minutes, as the door finally swung open, nearly hitting the man in the face.
The thing that opened the door didn’t look exactly human, they were sort of more creature-like. They seemed like a mix between slime and human. Nonetheless the smaller man took this as normal, as it was.
“What do you need now Charlie?” the slime asked, rather sleepily.
“Well I was just thinking that… maybe I could stay here for the night?” The man, now named Charlie, stated, “I’m sorry, but you know what happened to my house last night, you were there!”
The slime recalled what happened last night. They were indeed there, Charlie’s house had flooded beyond repair. They would need a professional in there to get all of the water out!
“Alright… fine,” The slime welcomed the man into their house, “But you’re leaving by sunrise! I have work tomorrow and don’t have time to deal with this.”
“Thank you Slimecat!” Charlie exclaimed while hurrying over to hug the slime, their gooey dark blue semi-transparent body contrasting with that of the man’s albino white skin. Of course after the hug ended they did get a slight bit of goo on their clothes. They quickly wiped the remaining slime on their shirt away, “Oh-… sorry,” they stuttered out.
The slime, named Slimecat, exclaimed, “I told you to stop that! You keep getting goo all over your clothes,” They acted aloof.
“Sorry, sorry.” Charlie quickly apologized. They only just realized the decor of this place wasn’t quite what they expected. Everything was a sort of blue, in Charlie’s mind that did make a bit of sense, the Slime was a darker shade of blue then most slimes, but they didn’t expect them liking blue to this sort of scale though.
“Big fan of blue, aren’t you?” they teased the slime.
“It’s natural for slimes!” Slimecat exclaimed.
“Right.. right,” Charlie replied, half doubting the slime. The slime led Charlie into a room, and explained that they would be sleeping there for the night. Charlie fell right onto the bed, falling asleep nearly instantly.
Author’s note: Hello! Really sort of new to this whole chronicle thing. I’ve been racking my brain for story ideas recently but never had the chance to actually use them, up until now at least. These will of course be shorter than the other story here, “Lady in waiting,” but I will still try my best!
