Intro

I have had a hard time. I have been trapped for so long in someone else’s head and body. I didn’t know how to feel. Or what to do. I watched.

The Beginning…

When I woke up it was bright; vibrant colors filled my vision. 

I couldn’t do much; only blinking at first. I didn’t know where I was, but I felt out of place, like I shouldn’t have been there. When I was finally able to stand, I stumbled. I saw a screen and I saw something… someone. They were moving and taking care of children. I didn’t understand. I couldn’t really do anything. Just watch as whoever I was seeing did these things.

It felt like a long time. There was no day or night where I was. It was always bright, positive mostly.

I heard what the person was thinking. A lot of worried thoughts about someone named Moon. I recognize that name…like it was my own name. I saw how Moon treated this person…I picked up pieces of memories and acts of violence.

I now know the name of the person’s head I’m stuck in. His name is Sunrise, or Sun for short. I guess Sun is my name too. I’m in his head right? So shouldn’t that be my name too? But that doesn’t feel right…

Sun’s crying… something happened with Moon. I don’t know what, but I saw them arguing. When Sun’s upset his head, or mind I guess, changes color. I am going to try and talk to him.

The Encounter

“Hello?… um Sun?” My voice was calm and cracked when I first spoke; I didn’t even think I could to be honest.

“What? Who is this?” Sun’s voice sounded panicked, and I watched as he dropped the barrel thing he was cleaning.

“I don’t know my… I woke up here a while ago… I don’t know how long I have been here, but I wanted to know if you were um… alright?” Sun sat down. As I spoke he closed his eyes and a figure appeared in front of me. 

“Oh! Hello…” I was shocked at the fact he was in front of me. He looked like me– minus the glowing part,I was glowing for some unknown reason. 

“What… or um who??” Sun got closer to me. He was shaking. 

“I don’t know… I woke up here and I couldn’t do much… um are you alright? I heard you fighting with that Moon guy.” I started, but Sun poked me.  

“Ow!” I backed up, rubbing my face.

“Oh! I’m sorry I uh, had to make sure you were, well, real.” Sun smiled gently.

“So um…,” I started after a bit of silence.

“You need a name,”Sun blurted out, and turned to me with a smile.

“A name?”

“YEAH! Well my name is Sun so ummm and you kinda look like a sun too! Hmmmmm I don’t know, but I’ll come up with something! Or I’ll ask my brother Moon! He’ll know!” Sun started to ramble.

“Pfft-” I laughed a bit which caught Sun’s attention.

“What’s so funny?”

“Nothing I just…haven’t been able to talk to anyone, and you’re so nice and full of energy… it’s, well, really nice…” I looked down. Tears started to form and I didn’t know why.

“Hey! Hey, don’t cry… it’s ok, I mean we can be friends! I love making friends!” Sun’s smile was so uplifting and gentle. I didn’t know how to feel about it. I just felt warm and happy on the inside.

My Name…

Sun and I got closer. I had a friend, and I liked it. Moon was more aggressive though. Sun told me about how they separated three weeks ago. I think that’s when I woke up actually. Sun said he would talk to Moon about it. Which I was fine with, but I was not ready to feel Moon’s rage.

Sun and Moon were fighting again. Sun was crying again. Moon gave me a name. Eclipses. Sun came to talk with me after the fight. He told me about how I was a piece of Moon’s code he was trying to get rid of. I didn’t know how to feel about that at first, but things got worse after that.

Moon wanted to talk to me. I didn’t know how that would be possible. Sun told me that I had to take control of his body. I didn’t want to do that at all. It sounded so painful for Sun. Yet, he insisted it would be fine. So I did. I was not ready to face more at all.

Moon’s Rage

When I opened my eyes, I was in the daycare, the place Sun worked. Moon was right in front of me, and he didn’t look pleased at all.

“So I’m guessing you’re Eclipses now.” Moon’s tone was cold and cruel.

“Um… I guess. What’s going on?” I looked around nervously. I’m not going to lie,I was terrified. I didn’t know if Sun was ok or not, and I definitely didn’t know what to say.

“Listen Eclipses” Moon said my name with so much hatred. “You’re nothing but a mistake of code that shouldn’t exist. I should just kill you, or just Erase you from Sun’s code. Easy fix really.”

I didn’t say a single word. I just listened. I felt fear build up inside my, well Sun’s stomach. Moon stared me down continuing.

“However, MY brother asked me to give you your own body. So I am going to do that. BUT that means I have to rip you out of him…” Moon rolled his eyes. It was very clear to me that he hated me, I didn’t know why. I didn’t really give him a reason to. From what it sounded like, he was the whole reason I was alive.

“Rip me out? Won’t that hurt…or you know kill Sun?” I didn’t know how I knew it would kill Sun.I just did.

“It will HURT Sun, yes, BUT not as much as you being in him. Like I said you’re nothing but a MISTAKE so consider this a gift from my brother. Now let the REAL owner of this body back in control.

I didn’t know how to respond, I just closed my eyes and when I opened them again I was back in Sun’s mind. Sun looked like he was in so much pain.

“Sun!! I am so sorry…” I looked down. Sun lifted my head, and I met his eyes. 

“Eclipses, it’s fine. You’re going to get your own body! That’s wonderful!!” He hugged me. “And when you do, you’ll be part of our family!” 

“Y-your family?” I looked at him shocked. 

“Yep! You’re my little brother Eclipses.” He smiled brighter and I felt like everything would be ok, But as the saying goes “Good things aren’t meant to last forever.”

Death pt.1 

Moon ripped me out of Sun’s body…but Sun; He didn’t survive it. He was broken down and could barely move; his systems were so badly damaged and I didn’t know how to fix him.

Moon HATED me. He blamed me for Sun’s condition and kept telling me how much I deserved to be erased. For a while, I thought he was right. Things got so much worse when Sun told me to pull the plug. 

Death pt.2

“Eclipses…listen to me.” Sun coughed, his voice box raspy and broken down.

“Y-yes?” I looked at him as he grabbed my hand.

“Eclipses…you can’t fix me…it’s time to let me go please…”

I froze, shaking and tears filled my eyes. “S-sun I… I can’t do-”

“Please Eclipses… it’s time to let me go… it hurts me to see you and Moon like this.” 

“Sun…I can’t lose you…please…I…I need you.” I couldn’t hold back my sobs. I was squeezing his hand tightly. He just… smiled, his amazing loving smile and put his hand over mine.

“It’s time to let me go brother…I will always be with you…but please do this for me…I can’t watch you and Moon suffer like this anymore.I love you both, so please do this for me…” 

I hugged him and nodded. My heart broken, as his gentle smile,  with his sweet baby blue eyes locked with mine; I pulled the plug. As he closed his eyes in my arms, I rested my head on his chest and cried.

Hey there! My name is Solar, and I hope you enjoyed the first chapter of “I Have Been Trapped for So Long”.
