2025 Inauguration Recap: What Trump Plans To Do In Upcoming Years
Ella Flynn
On Monday, January 20, 2025, Donald J. Trump was inaugurated for his second term as President of the United States of America. The gathering of the inauguration was held inside Capitol Hill.
There were multiple performances on Inauguration Day. These events were, The Star Spangled Banner, presented by opera singer Christopher D. Macchio, and America The Beautiful, presented by country music singer Carrie Underwood. Those were the performances at the actual inauguration though later in the night at the Commander in Chief Ball, the performances were, country music band Rascal Flatts and country music singer-songwriter Parker McCollum. Then at the Liberty Inaugural Ball, the performers were country singer-songwriter Jason Aldean, along with Nelly and the Village People.
This past inauguration was a bit different than usual. President Trump decided to make a short notice announcement to have his swearing-into-office ceremony inside the Capitol due to cold weather. However, this isn’t the first time a President has been sworn into office inside. The last inauguration to be held inside was in 1985 during President Ronald Regan’s swearing-in ceremony. Otherwise, though these were the only two inauguration ceremonies held inside.
President Trump has made a very loud and bold return to his presidency. On his inauguration day, he went to his indoor parade happening inside of the Capital One Arena located in Washington D.C., and he signed multiple laws and new restrictions happening in the upcoming weeks for the U.S. Some of the laws and regulations were…
- Restoring names that honor American Greatness
- Designating cartels and other organizations as foreign terrorist organizations and specially designated global terrorists
- Reforming the federal hiring process and restoring merit to government service
- Ending radical and wasteful government DEI programs and preferencing
- Defending women from gender ideology extremism and restoring biological truth to the federal government
- Establishing and implementing the president’s ‘Department of Government Efficiency’
- America First policy directive to the secretary of state
- Protecting the United States from foreign terrorists and other national security and public safety threats
- Unleashing Alaska’s extraordinary resource potential, and last but not least
- Protecting the American people against invasion.
President Donald J. Trump signed all of these orders by 11:59 pm on January 20th alongside Vice President JD Vance.
This year’s inauguration was a bit delayed. As you can see in the picture above President Donald J. Trump did not have his left hand on the bible. The reason why he did not have his hand on the bible was because the Chief Justice began to swear him into office by noon. Though like past inaugurations the first lady gets up and walks over to their spouse to hold the bible for them. Though the Chief Justice began before First Lady Melania Trump could stand up according to news sources. Haley Helm says, “I think the Chief Justice should’ve given Melania time to fully get up and ready. To be completely honest I feel like the whole swearing in ceremony was very rushed. Even for Vice President J.D. Vance it seemed extremely rushed. I know it was to make sure Trump was sworn in by noon but he should’ve given Melania time.” Now if you are wondering why it’s so important to swear in the next president at noon is because with tradition the next upcoming president is to be sworn in halfway through the day. Which in this matter it would be at 12:00 pm eastern time.
During President Donald J. Trump’s speech he talks about how he plans to exceed as the new U.S. President and what the future could hold for America. The President starts his speech by saying,“The Golden Age For America Starts Right Now”. People have taken this many different ways. Many believe this could be a good upcoming event for the U.S. though many believe it could be bad and too bold of a statement. President Trump also says, “During every single day of the Trump administration, I will very simply put America first”. The whole process is very important to make a positive establishment for the U.S. Helm agrees with this statement by saying, “I believe this whole process will take a bit to come true. I also think it is just a waiting game to see what actually happens.” Olivia Todd also agrees, “You never really know until it happens, and that’s not just with the President, but with everybody.”
President Trump also plans to take over the Gulf of Mexico, and if or when he does he plans to name it the “Gulf of America”. If this succeeds then America will conquer the gulf. Though that is not the only land Trump is trying to conquer. President Trump is trying to take over Greenland for a better military base. While this is less likely to happen than the Gulf of America it is still very important. If America takes over Greenland then we would own more than half of North America. Helm states, “I think taking over Greenland is better than the gulf. At least with Greenland we can use it for a good meaning while the Gulf we can still use it but no as well.”
President Trump has planned to do many things with the U.S. Overall the whole process is and will be waiting game.
