Picture this: a warm blanket, a steaming mug, and the glow of the TV screen. Fall is the season for cozy nights, and what better way to spend them than diving into a riveting series?
1.) Gilmore Girls

Gilmore Girls takes place in Stars Hollow, a small town in Connecticut, mainly focusing on the strong mother-daughter relationship between single mom Lorelai and her teenager, Rory. The show explores Rory’s life throughout her schooling and entails the challenging bond with Lorelai’s parents. The show’s New England backdrop, an infinite amount of coffee, and town festivals naturally bring forth feelings of fall.
“This is the definition of a fall show,” says Maryella Blakeman, a student at Central High School. “I have rewatched it many times, and it has many comforting characters.”
2.) Stranger Things

Stranger Things is set in 1980s Hawkins, Indiana, where a group of young friends —Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Will — encounter the supernatural when Will vanishes mysteriously. As they hunt for their missing friend, they meet Eleven, a peculiar girl wielding astonishing powers, and find out about government plans that connect to the Upside Down, a threatening parallel world. Deeper into the show, the friends battle monstrous creatures and personal struggles, while trying to keep their town out of harm’s way. Set around Halloween and full of suspense, this series captures the thrill of fall’s eerie side.
3.) The Haunting Of Bly Manor

The Haunting Of Bly Manor is a paranormal horror story set in the English countryside, where a young woman, Dani Clayton, is hired to care for two orphaned children living in an eerie mansion. While adjusting to her new role as governess, she begins to witness ghostly figures around the manor and unsettling behavior from the children. As time goes on, the dark history is revealed- including the story of a former governess who died from unknown circumstances, and according to the children, a spirit known to them as the Lady in the Lake roams the grounds of their property. It contains foggy landscapes and tells a story of grief and memories, spotlighting the haunted side of autumn’s nature.
4.) The Vampire Diaries

The Vampire Diaries exposes the dark secrets of Mystic Falls, a town haunted by its supernatural history and the immortal beings that walk among its human occupants. The story revolves around high school student Elena Gilbert, who ends up torn between the puzzling Salvatore brothers. She unknowingly finds herself stuck in a world swarming with vampires, witches, and cursed creatures. The gothic vibe and mainly night scenes that scream October fits perfectly with a rainy day and warm drink.
5.) Friends

Friends is a ’90s comedy show about six friends living in New York City, who navigate through almost every experience life has to offer. We follow Phoebe Buffay, Joey Tribbiani, Monica Geller, Ross Geller, Rachel Green, and Chandler Bing. Between the famous Thanksgiving episodes and the squad strolling through Central Park, it gives a sense of familiarity and warmth.
When asked about her favorite character, Danielle Rayner, a mid-30s’ writer living in LA, responded, “Ross is hilarious and so nerdy! I like Monica because now that I’m old, I resonate with her, plus I like that she’s a chef! But I love them all”.
