A Review of iMessage Games

Lesley Slue

We all love to play games. Whether it be video games, board games, etc… When Vitalii Zlotskii & Apple colbed and came out with Game Pigeon also known as iMessage Games in 2016, the gaming world went crazy.

The app now has over 1 Million downloads, and a rating higher almost higher than 4 stars. Many people use iMessage games to pass the time, to be competitive, or just for plain fun. I sent out a survey & asked your classmates what they think about iMessage games and these were their responses.

8Ball was the highest ranked for most favorite, and played. But was also ranked by some as the worst game.

According to Alice Bell, a freshman, and Gavin Brown, a sophomore here at Central High School, they play 8 Ball the most. Gavin said “8 Ball can be both fun and competitive”. Others say it’s fun because of how competitive and strategic it is.

Allison Hobson, a Senior here at Central High School, disagrees and says “I’m bad at it”. Although Gavin loves 8 Ball, he can somewhat agree with Allison saying the game takes too long to complete.

Another game that seemed to be liked a lot is Word games. Alice said that, “Word games is fun and she’s really good at it.

The most disliked iMessage game was also 8 Ball, funny enough, but there were a lot of games that also ended up on that list such as Knockout, and Cup Pong. Alice Bell, says that “Knockout can be boring and that there are many other options”. An anonymous junior said that they don’t like Cup Pong because it “takes too much time, and strategy, also half the time the game glitches, so I end up losing”.

In the end everyone loves playing games. It’s a good way to pass time and to be able to have fun with others whether you win in the end or lose.
