In the new season of Outer Banks, the crew (Cleo, JJ, John B, Kiara, Pope, and Sarah) set off to find the legendary Black Beard’s Ship. Little do they know what’s about to hit them. There are very mysterious people, watching their every move. The pogues are trying to decide if they should take the risk or leave with the money they have already gotten from the gold of El Dorado, an underground city located in South America. In the previous season, the pouges went in search of El Dorado and found it before anyone else got close.
If you haven’t watched Outer Banks in the past then the main thing you need to know is that there are two sides of the island. One side, the “luxurious side”, is called the “kooks” side. Then the other side is known as the working class and or low-paid side and they are called the “pogues”. For the past seasons, the pogues have been treasure hunting nonstop. First in season 1 they were trying to find the Royal Merchant which has tons of gold. Later in season 2 they were hunting for the Cross of Santo Domingo. Then in season 3 they were searching for the Gold of El Dorado. The pogues though did not find the Royal Merchant or the Cross but they did find 1,000,000 dollars worth of gold from El Dorado.
There were many good reviews over the first part of the new season, though many nerve racking moments happened. Molly Kloppel, a Sophomore at Champaign Central said, “I like how the pogues got back into the treasure-hunting gig after taking a pause for a little while from finding El Dorado.” Once finding El Dorado the pogues had taken a pause on treasure hunting and trying to focus on their own business. Though Haley Helm, also a sophomore at Champaign Central, wasn’t too focused on the treasure hunting, “I would really like to see some more screen time for Pope and Sarah together. I feel like when they are together it’s always a funny scene.” Helm mentioned.
Though a new talk “I like how we are seeing a new side of JJ’s family. Now I feel like we have to see if it’s going to cause the pogues any hardships.” Kloppel said. In season four they are searching for Black Beard’s treasure. Though in the story JJ’s biological dad is directly related to the guy that had killed Black Beard’s wife, Emily. Ever since then anyone who is related to the guy that killed her is now cursed by Emily. Now that viewers have found out that JJ could be cursed they have been sitting on the edge of their seats a little more. Helm also agrees with Kloppel on this topic. “I am nervous for JJ mainly because I have really enjoyed him this season,” Helm says.
Over all people are still waiting very intently for the second part which is coming out on Netflix on November 7th, 2024. The main question is if the pogues will successfully find the blue crown without losing a crew member, and if so who is it going to be? On Rotten Tomatoes, the rating of the new season is 5/5 stars, which you can watch on Netflix if you are interested. So overall I think whether you are old or young you would enjoy this series.
