Students at Central High School need to be prepared for the finals on December 19th and 20th, so a list of tips has been provided to help anyone who might be struggling with studying.
Mrs. Cappa, an English teacher at Central (shown above), brings up that “If you have some materials organized, you can go back and highlight, or make notes on them.” Which helps you with being prepared.
Furthermore, Scientific America’s article “Why Writing by Hand is Better for Memory and Learning” mentions that, “previous research has found that when people are asked to write, draw or act out a word that they’re reading, they have to focus more on what they’re doing with the received information.”
Meaning, that by participating in an activity of some kind, such as acting something out, you will be able to remember the information a lot better than if you weren’t doing the action.
The last tip, said by Anna Yim, a freshman at Central High School, is to “ask for help from your upperclassmen with what to review for finals.” She also studies by reviewing her past assignments.
So, by organizing your stuff, reviewing past assignments, writing notes by hand, and asking for help you are now prepared to face finals and are ready to tackle any problems that come your way.
