The C-U Pride Festival The 2023 Champaign-Urbana Pride Festival took place from September 23rd to October 1st. Even if you missed it this year, you’ll have another chance to experience the vibrant colors of this joyful parade next year. Junior Adam Edwards documented his experience by taking vivid camera photography, which changed his perspective on how the parade went. Many people face valid anxiety or anticipation of problems. Junior Hailey Wenzel said that, “The parade from a distance looked very sudden to be attending” but she chose to push herself. Thanks to the amount of allies who were present at the parade, she felt “very appreciated, with a sense of belonging and collaboration from friends and family.” Many people wonder what interesting events occur at the parade, and there are a lot of answers! According to the United Pride Champaign County Website, during the pride festival week drag shows and music, along with “a love fest, queer prom & education study groups are being hosted every year Champaign Urbana.” All of these feelings and events form a wonderful annual festival. `
