After Donald Trump won the 2024 election, Americans are curious as to how the first year out of four may look. Movies, laws, gadgets and gizmos are wonders that have been plaguing the minds of this country. Let’s dive into what 2025 could have in store.
With one month left in office, people who voted for Kamala Harris wonder what is next for her. I am curious to see if she will run again in 2028. Moreover, President-elect Trump has revealed his plans for 2025 and it looks scary. With more tariffs, a proposed elimination of the board of education, and taking away all abortion rights and contraception such as birth control, Trump admin policy could make the U.S. look like a joke on the global stage. It gets even scarier when Trump became buddies with Elon Musk, a well known tech billionaire.
Chloe Flynn said she was unable to vote due to when her birthday fell. She didn’t have a particular candidate she’d vote for, but she expressed she was surprised at the influence Trump had not only on the south, but in the north/midwest as well. Kamala Harris was at the top of Jevonna pages list and also said she aligns with Kamala a lot more. She had a feeling Trump was going to win, although she’s not so proud of it. She hopes for a less violent and safer year, as do I.
Popping popcorn and seeing a movie is always at the top of anyone’s list. Jacqui Logan, a teacher at Central High School remarked, “I just know Wicked Part 2 is coming. But I like movies so I’ll probably go see almost anything that comes out in theaters honestly.”
From is a show Caitlyn Vanderbeek, another teacher at Central High School hopes to see in the year 2025. “It’s so good, So I’m hoping that season four will come out next year.”
The economy today, possibly could have a big leap in the future… not regarding smiles with it. The topic definitely needs to be spoken about more. From Mrs. Logan she has a well opinionated fact. “Well the economy is interesting because it has fluctuated, generally. So right now it seems like it’s in the place of an upper trend which is expensive but it’s always like that.“
Mrs. Vanderbeek added a popular opinion, answering, “It’s pretty bad right now. “I would say it’s kind of expensive to be… a consumer, buying things. I was just telling my partner that I have to pay thirty two bucks and that’s like almost five dollars more than I would normally pay… I feel like things are getting more expensive and peoples salaries are not rising with the rising prices. So it’s not great, the economy is not great.”
Disney movie lineup, from Urban Matter.Technology these days are either a good influence or a bad influence. Here are some thoughts about what technology could be the face of 2025 “Probably another new iPhone” Ms. Logan says. “I think virtual reality, I think that’s gonna be it, like the VR” Mrs. Vanderbeek thinks. “Not to make a pun but facial recognition I feel like is gonna be the face of 2025, maybe even like… blue sky.” Teacher Choi also predicts.
Next year’s Grammys will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025. Ms. Logan predicts, “For best rap album I hope it’s either Tyler The Creator, Kendrick Lamar. If Doechii wins I wouldn’t be mad about it, but I would really want Tyler or Kendrick to win… I want kendrick to win basically all the categories he’s nominated for.”
When asked who she wanted to win, Ms. Logan answered, “Greta Van Fleet. Greta Van Fleet!, it’s a bunch of queer white dudes that sing rock music.” Mrs. Vanderbeek said. “Chappell Roan and Hozier,” Teacher Choi says lastly.
Now the most important topic, that literally has everyone thinking, has a huge effect on what’ll come to be next year, our predictions for 2025.
“I think that… economically speaking I think a lot of things, a lot of prices are gonna increase such as taxes, you know when it comes to groceries things like that, like something right now could be five dollars and end up being six dollars and some change something along those lines. Or but even, if something is five dollars and eighty cents and it goes up to six dollars, that’s a lot in the grand scheme things when I think about groceries,” Ms. Logan answered in an interview. “I think gas prices are gonna increase, I mean, based on a lot of these laws and things he’s thinking about changing, like when it comes to our supreme court and the laws that are gonna get passed I think there are gonna be some interesting, legal changes when it comes to like people’s rights. I think that’s gonna be a very interesting and not necessarily in the most positive sense either.” Ms. Logan says, clearing her statement.
“I just really hope that we survive the Trump presidency, that’d be cool. I don’t want him to deport brown people, so I hope that doesn’t happen” Mrs. Vanderbeek opined.
“I feel like our economy is gonna get even worse, maybe not worse but like fluctuating a lot more and get really rough. I think this country is gonna get a little bit more volatile, more tense, and I don’t think Trump is gonna do as well as people say he might. I think people are going to start seeing him for who he is and if they don’t, then the country is gonna suffer for it a little bit.” Teacher Choi says as their final statement.
