All good things come to an end, even one of the most popular series, Stranger Things. The hit Netflix sci-fi series, Stranger Things, which started in the summer of 2016, will conclude its fifth and final season. Since the last episode aired, people all over the world have been waiting for the new season. Before this new season comes out, students need a revisit to what happened last season.
In season 4, the main antagonist is a powerful creature named Vecna, who is from a demonic world called the Upside Down. Vecna targets teenagers that have experienced lots of trauma in Hawkins, leading to an ongoing effort to stop him. The Upside Down is a parallel dimension that is dark, toxic, and a decaying version of the real world filled with monsters and electrical storms. Meanwhile, Eleven, known as Millie Bobby Brown, a girl that has supernatural powers, travels to a secret facility with Mike, Will, and Jonathan to regain her powers by reliving traumatic memories of the Hawkins lab, which reveals she evidently created Vecna.
Instead of everyone being in Hawkins, Joyce and Murray are in Russia, and they embark on a dangerous mission to rescue Hopper, who is a prisoner there. The show concludes with the combined efforts of all the groups managing to weaken Vecna, but they end up not destroying him completely.
Since this is the last season, it is expected to be more gory and scary than before. Students at Central High School and people all around the world are excited about this new season. Ena Keist, a sophomore from Central High School, said, “I think the main characters will sacrifice themselves for Hawkins.” These characters are below.
Dustin Henderson
Dustin, played by Gaten Matarazzo, was an instant favorite in the start and end of season 4. In the trailer, Dustin is seen hugging Steve and had a frightened expression on his face. Students think that he will stay and survive, but probably get hurt sometime during the show trying to save someone.
Robin Buckley
Robin is a favorite to lots of people when introduced in Season 3, and people are sure that she will remain okay in this next season. And while we think she’ll be okay, there’s a part in the trailer where it puts us on alert. What is making her so worried? We’d be lying if we say we aren’t scared of the formal Scoops Ahoy employee and Steve’s former bestie.
Steve Harrington
As in the last paragraph, Steve, known as Joe Keery, is mentioned, and he also has a worried look on his face in the trailer. Keira Mullen, a freshman at Central, predicts, “Steve will sacrifice himself for Nancy or probably do something dangerous that will get him killed.”
Nancy Wheeler
There have been lots of mixed feelings about Nancy and if she’s going to die this last season. Lots of students at Central have said she’ll be okay but other fans outside of Central think Nancy will get hurt helping someone.
Max Mayfield
Max’s fate was left unclear at the end of last season because Vecna had gotten to her which left her barely alive. Since she’s in the hospital still alive, she could be in serious danger. So, students and people all around the world don’t think she’s going to survive.
Lucas Sinclair
While we’re confident that Lucas will stay alright in this upcoming season, the teaser trailer has us on edge and scared for him. Since, Lucas seems to be alone and in danger in the trailer us people don’t know what’s going to happen.
Mike Wheeler
At one point in the teaser, Mike is seen pushing back a few people which is seen as being a leader. Emma Morison at Central Highschool says, “I think it’ll just be the group that they had in Season 1 before Eleven came along and Will will be dead. So, it’ll just be Mike, Dustin, and Lucas.”
Joyce Byers and Jim Hopper
Joyce and Jim Hopper are known to be a brave and a leader type of person so fans have said they think that Joyce and Hopper will die saving their kids, Will, Jonathan, and Eleven.
Jonathan Byers
Jonathan has been a pillar in the Byers family. He is a supportive brother, son, and friend. He hasn’t made a “hero” moment yet. So, let’s hope that part comes. Based on Nancy’s commentary in the trailer, her cleaning blood of her hands while crying, were terrified of what this might mean for Jonathan’s fate.
Eleven
In many ways, Eleven has been a hero during these past 4 seasons, but maybe this season, she might be the greatest hero ever. But we are hoping she stays safe during this last season, but we’d be lying if she wasn’t going to face something huge in this upcoming season.
Will Byers
Byers is one of the most predicted deaths in this season. Emma Morison has said, “Will might die because if he’s under Vecna’s curse and if they try to kill Vecna, that might kill Will.” If you think about it, this theory makes lots of sense.
Venca
Vecna’s death is the most predicted in the next episode. He is a powerful psychic entity who originated from being called Henry or 001(One). He is the mastermind behind all the Upside Down’s attacks on Hawkins, controlling its hive mind and monsters like the Mind Flayer and the demogorgon. Us fans hope that Vecna dies and everyone is okay but no one knows what’s actually going to happen. “What if Vecna kills everyone in Hawkins and takes control of the world,” said Tailynn Sutton.

The most common prediction about the new season is that The Upside Down is going to destroy and take over Hawkins and they can’t defeat Vecna. Stranger things have lots of fans and they have lots of predictions about what’s going to happen in the new season. “I hope everyone stays okay,” says Emma Morison.
